Cytosolic localization and in vitro assembly of human de novo thymidylate synthesis complex
The de novo synthesis complex of deoxythymidylate (dTMP) has been localized in tumor cell lines and assembled for the first time in vitro. This complex, composed of three proteins, represents a potential pharmacological target of great interest. The research, coordinated by Prof. Francesca Cutruzzolà and Prof. Giorgio Giardina and Dr. Sharon Spizzichino as first author, is the result of the synergy between researchers of the Dept. of Biochemical Sciences, the Institute of Biology and Molecular Pathologies of CNR, the Institute of Crystallography of the CNR and the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT).
